YIN & YANG yang rises upward to meet the yin descending  together they shine! the benza quality of the diamond thunderbolt of yang rising is apparent at the bottom of the figure while the receptive quality of yin descending is ready to receive...eventually the seed of yang meets the egg of yin and a flash of bright light signals the beginning of new life...all three shine for an instant! this image is a metaphor for much of life...there are our intentions, efforts, plans, attempts to manifest, learn, heal, orchestrate some experience, reaching out, AND there is the reception of these efforts by others, nature, and the divine feminine...sometimes we are invited in, given support, accepted, nurtured in our efforts, and our plans come to fruition....i note that in Hinduism, these symbols are often depicted as yoni representing the female genitals and Shakti, and lingam representing the male genitals and Shiva. look for opportunities where the divine feminine is inviting you in, ...

THROUGHLY FEMALE shaped like a tear drop folded layers leading in throughly female the layers of tear dropped colors, encircling each other, enfolded, leading in, surrounded by curly green swirls and toped by a single red tear drop is "throughly female"--how wonderous and beautiful, so many layers of meaning and emotion within. what kinds of emotions come to mind as you contemplate the tear dropped shapes of folded layers that lead in? what kinds of folded layers are leading you into life? into what are you being invited and lead into? what will happen when you follow this leading? what is the ultimate destination? what do you hope to experience and learn?

GENTLY TOUCHING among the colored shapes gently touching edges there is harmony beginning at the center with a square and lines running through it to form triangles which morphed into a larger square and more polygonish figures, followed by an array of colors...i had no idea where this was going, and in the end, looking at the whole, it seems the edges are gently touching each other, producing a feeling of harmony. perhaps in our everyday activities, the individual things we do seem isolated, but in looking back over a stretch of time during the day, we may find that the activities are gently touching, yielding a harmonious whole, a complete day. one way we can practice looking for harmony among the many activities of our lives is at the end of the day, briefly reviewing the events of the day, perhaps finding synchronicities that we may not have not noticed had we not taken the time to reflect on our many lines running through the squares of life.

PINE BARK brown, olive, and orange snaking and intertwining fall bark of pine tree seen with the eyes of contemplation, many things emerge from fall pine bark...the colors, the pattern of intertwining scales of bark, and the snaking idea came to me after seeing a black rat snake methodically slither up the bark of a pine tree...there is also the rough feel of the bark, the scent of the pine in the air around the bark, and the associations one makes with the colors: brown earth, olive leaves, orange sunset... ONE MOMENT...that's all it takes for reality to morph into a host of many splendid things...look with soft eyes and let go...see what emerges...try with things in the natural world.

ETERNAL LIFE orbs of color bright connected with triangles king's (queen's) sarcophagus reminded of the Egyptian sarcophagus holding the pharoah's body, but this image displays the colors bright like chakras along the front of the body and fanning out to the sides...dead yet in some sense still alive with light, color, energy, and information. we are invited to contemplate our own death, our resting place...the finitude of life in this realm AND the light, color, energy, and information that we carry now and beyond our physical death, the eternal part of us...how might we cultivate the eternal aspects of our being during our present life on earth? perhaps the practices of meditation, prayer, silence, stillness, and contemplation offer clues...

CHRISTMAS EVE gold and silver stars formed with pairs of triangles  meet at the window gold and silver are Christmas colors in the United States during December...stars are often associated with the Christ's birth in the nativity stories of the Christian gospels...triangular pairs that form the six sided stars symbolize the star of David in the Hebrew scriptures...all come together when looking with child-like wonder through the window of our soul. when you look up at the night sky, can you still see stars? if so, do they twinkle? can you find without your heart the child-like faith to "wish upon a star"? why not make a wish this very night, upon your star in the night sky...be bold, courageous, brave, and dare to wish for your heart's desire...may it be so...AMEN!

WATER BEARS Freezing or boiling No need for water or food Water bears survive Water bears (tardigrades) are microscopic organisms that survive (for a limited time) in extreme cold (to 460 degrees fahrenheit) and extreme heat (to 300 degrees fahrenhiet) suspending their metabolism to less that .01 % with water content of 1% of normal, going without water or food for up to 30 years, and then rehydrating, foraging, and reproducing again...they can also withstand cosmic radiation in space with apparently no harmful side effects (all according to wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tardigrade). We could learn a lot from these little creatures...when to withdraw from harmful conditions, how to relax without eating or drinking...not needing to immediately satisfy our hunger or thirst, and being resilient...after experiencing stressful conditions, making a come back and resuming life's activities.

DENDRITES patterned lines of 3 interconnected dendrites universal brain patterned lines of 3 are fractals of nature...readily observable in the human body, trees, plants, elementals...interconnected patterns, dendrites within the nervous system, not just in our cerebral, heart, and gut brains, but in the universal brain...indeed, we are interconnected. meditating on interconnections provides strength, a feeling of being bigger than yourself... comfort, security, solace is herein...one way to concretely feel these interconnections is through relationships with others...meditate on the positive contributions of parents, siblings, relatives (include grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews...), teachers (as far back as you can recall to as far as you went/are in school, and then include teachers outside of school, coaches, religious/spiritual individuals, on-line community members, authors of books, movie characters)...by intentionally recalling these people, you bring them i...

HEAD OF THE LINE the head of the line keeps moving, curving, snaking swallowing its tail different lines (green and purple) are "moving", the purple swallows the green, and the green swallows the other shapes, reminding us of the ancient symbol of the circular snake swallowing its own tail...a sign of infinity...in one sense, this moving and swallowing represents the regenerative, renewing, infinite cycle of life, and in another more restricted sense, the endless moving in our lives represents the busyness, eating our own tails in competing to stay at the "head of the line"...we create our own kind of frenzy in ever faster moving that backlashes onto ourselves in destruction. what are you so busy about? what makes you move in a kind of frenzy? is part of this busyness counterproductive in that you're moving so fast you make more mistakes? perhaps we need to let go of the idea of being at the "head of the line", being first, being at the top of the heap...

ANGLES & CURVES hard angular shapes  unite with curvy 8 shapes creating new life hard angles associate with yang, eagle, and power while curvy 8's tend toward yin, condor, Sophia wisdom; both need to unite/connect for creating new life, literally (as in a new human being) and figuratively (as in creative art)...with both yin and yang we fly, while missing either we constrict our mobility. what dream are you realizing? what are the yang parts of the dream? what are the yin parts? how can you connect the yin and yang parts of your dream in a personal image and birth it inside of you, giving it wings to fly?
