PINE BARK

brown, olive, and orange

snaking and intertwining

fall bark of pine tree

seen with the eyes of contemplation, many things emerge from fall pine bark...the colors, the pattern of intertwining scales of bark, and the snaking idea came to me after seeing a black rat snake methodically slither up the bark of a pine tree...there is also the rough feel of the bark, the scent of the pine in the air around the bark, and the associations one makes with the colors: brown earth, olive leaves, orange sunset...

ONE MOMENT...that's all it takes for reality to morph into a host of many splendid things...look with soft eyes and let go...see what emerges...try with things in the natural world.
