60

the view from 60

over 1/2 way there, looking...

for new beginnings

if, given the advances in medicine and health, we make it into the centurian years, then 60 years of age is just over half way...Ever since turning 50, i seem to have entered a new era of growing older...when i was 50, i thought, it's not so bad, 50's not that old, now at 60, i'm thinking the same thing...i wonder, if it will be the same at 70? if i don't look in the mirror and focus on how i feel, i felt pretty darn good at 60 (and now at 66, at the time of this writing, i still feel pretty good)...with retirement looming next year, the "new beginnings" i foreshadowed on my 60th birthday seem much more intense/pressing...looking for new adventures, and ressurecting old ones that i "didn't have time for" when i was working full time...before i know it, 60 will turn upside down and i'll be 90!

don't wait to do the things you really want to do in life...find ways to work them into your life NOW, even if you're "busy" with full time work,  full time school, full time kids, full time house...do at least something every day (everyone can spare 5 minutes--they add up over the weeks and months) to move forward in your life adventures...practice: identify 1 thing you'd like to do, and create 1 5-minute or less practice that you can do every day to ENJOY your life NOW.
